NSYS Annual BBQ & Treasure Hunt

posted 8 Oct 2017, 12:09 by Ronan Boyle   [ updated 8 Oct 2017, 12:46 ]

Perfect weather today for the Annual NSYS Treasure Hunt and BBQ, with thanks to our kind sponsors shown below.

Seven boats made it out on the water this year - Free Spirit, Kestrel II, Moonraker, Sail Away II, Sanderling, Skybird, Suaimhneas and the crew from Explorer.

All were tested by the cryptic clues, especially the lamp post https://van.physics.illinois.edu/QA/listing.php?id=1235

Thanks to the organisers and everyone who turned out. Looking forward to our next event on 21st Oct in Cork City.

A series of Fun races are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday as follows:

Saturday 01 July:
1200 hrs. Quays pontoon. Registration of boats.
1300 hrs Skippers briefing.

This is genuinely a great fun event, that the Yacht Squadron have supported since its inaugural event in 2011. It is a great event to experience racing at a more 'leisurely' pace and understand starting sequences and racing in general as explained on our website  under NSYS notices 'NSYS Cruiser racing'. Have a go!

posted 31 Jan 2017, 11:56 by Ronan Boyle

Hope everyone is well rested and has settled back into work for the new year. Now it's time to start thinking about the few small jobs that need to be done before the boats go back in. First of all the AGM will be held at 10:00hrs on board LE. Eithne on Saturday the 18th of February, after which we will spend one hour tidying up the yard making it safe for all your small jobs to be carried out. (Please bring your own PPE)

Sailing Secretary
